God called me into Worship and Music Ministry many years ago, particularly in the area of keyboard ministry. I have always believed that God can and will use music to spread His word and minister to those who hear it.
God saved me as a 13 year old and immediately started using me in music ministry. It has been my pleasure to serve at FBC Fairburn since 1985. I have worked in many areas of ministry since that time, starting as pianist alone then serving in preschool and children’s ministry, graded choir ministry (children and youth), handbells, and one of my favorites – Children’s Music Day Camp!
I am a graduate of Mercer University with a B.M. in Piano Performance and Music Education and a graduate of Georgia State University with a M.M. in Music Theory. I love teaching music in addition to serving at FBC Fairburn.
I have just recently retired from the Worship and Music Ministry of the Georgia Baptist Mission Board, having worked in the areas of music festivals, camps and keyboard work for 13 years. I continue to serve as one of the accompanists for the Jubalheirs, a choral group consisting of women serving in different capacities in church music ministry within Georgia Baptist churches. I also maintain a private piano studio in my home.
God gave me the gift of a daughter, Julie, when she was 12 years old. She is now married to Derek and has a son, Levi. I stay in touch with them regularly even though they live in Colorado.
It has been my joy to serve at FBC Fairburn, to grow in my relationship with Jesus, to watch children grow up to be adults and see how God now uses them. What a blessing!
