This Sunday at 11am, join us on our live stream at fbcfairburn.com/live or on Facebook live at facebook.com/firstbaptistfairburn.
Due to public health concerns about COVID-19, we want to make sure that we are taking appropriate measures to accomplish several things at one time.
- Foremost, we want to honor the Lord God as stewards of the people and families that he is placed under our care and within our sphere of influence as a church.
- We want to protect our church members and others in our community from the potential spread of this virus.
- We also want to honor the requests of our governing officials who have been placed over us to assist us in the proper execution of our mandate as people. This does not mean that we wish to capitulate to government but it does recognize that our governing authorities have been given to us and have a special stewardship over us as Citizens. We know that they also carry a lot more wisdom and information concerning current events in and around our community that we need to listen to.
With all of these things in mind we have come to the decision that we will be amending our worship service for Sundays through June 21 in the following way: there will be no Sunday Bible Study at 9:45, and our 11:00 worship service will be made available online only. What this means is that we will live stream a worship service from our Sanctuary at 11:00 a.m. on Facebook. You can go to facebook.com/firstbaptistfair
We will conduct our worship service on this manner for the next few weeks in order to assist in the effort to stop the potential spread of the Coronavirus. I understand that we have several in our congregation who are older or have other health concerns that would compromise them should they gather. It is only natural when we get together that we want to shake hands we want to embrace one another as a church family. It is hard to not reach out to someone that you have known for months or years and have built a fond affection with them. However, these times call for a different approach.
Please join us online for this different type of worship experience. We will continue to re-evaluate for what the future weeks might look like and post updates here. To be sure you get the latest information about our plans, pleas subscribe to our newsletter here.
